Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation Launches Poetry Contest in Anniversary of 1920 Uprising

On the 100^th anniversary of the 1920 uprising in Iraq, which was led by the late Grand Ayatollah Mirza Mohammad Taqi Shirazi, Misbah Al-Hussein Relief Foundation in holy Karbala launched a poetry contest in this City. The poetry contest is aimed at eulogizing the historic sacrifices of the Iraqi nation, in their uneven battle against the British colonizers in the year 1920. The top poets will receive precious prizes.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (1)

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds (2)

The Beneficent, the Merciful (3)

Master of the Day of Judgment (4)

Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help (5)

Keep us on the right path (6)

The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not (the path) of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray (7)

Chapter Al-Ikhlas.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (1)

Say: He, Allah, is One (2)

Allah is He on Whom all depend (3)

He begets not, nor is He begotten (4)

And none is like Him (5)
