Imam Shirazi World Foundation Writes to Iraqi Parliament Ahead of Arbaeen Pilgrimage
With the approach of Arbaeen Annual Pilgrimage, Imam Shirazi World Foundation wrote a letter to the Iraqi parliament in which it demanded the Iraqi officials to propose and pass laws about religious tourism in Iraq.
Some parts of this letter reads as follows:
“The pilgrimage to the holy shrines in Iraq, especially on the 20th of Safar is a highly important to the Muslim populace. Each year, on this time of the year, millions of people from all around the world converge in the holy City of Karbala to visit the shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). Iraq, as a host of pilgrims and the holy shrines of AhlulBayt, must devise laws that can boost religious tourism in this country.”
We demand the Iraqi officials to immediately pass laws in order to facilitate religious tourism as a means to honor the sacred rituals of Imam Hussain peace be upon him in the Arbaeen Annual Pilgrimage.
Further, Imam Shirazi World Foundation declared its readiness to cooperate with Iraqi legislative bodies to design laws and regulations about religious tourism.
